A Guide to Peppers from Happy Quail Farms

  • Sweet Peppers

    We grow around 20 different varieties of sweet peppers. Color is our thing!

    The first peppers of the year to make it to market are a variety of green-stage colors: white, purple, lavender and, of course, green.

  • Roasting Peppers

    Traditional Pimientos and Hungarian Cheese Pimientos. They are exceptional for their thick wall, sweet flavor and ease of peeling when roasted. The traditional peppers used in stuffed olives and pimento cheese.

     

  • Hot Peppers

    Originating in Central America peppers have naturalized to nearly every country and cuisine on the earth.  The size, color, shape, and heat levels of peppers worldwide vary to exponential degrees. 

    From the literally thousands of peppers available we have selected to grow the following.

  • Spanish Peppers

    We grow the original traditional heirloom Pimientos estilo de Padrón and Piquillo Peppers.

    Sweet and nutty flavor with an occasional hot pepper in the mix make Spanish Peppers ideal for tapa and a conversation piece!

  • Basque Fryers

    Red and green, sweet and tender peppers that are rapidly finding their place in culinary circles across the country.

    Sautée in a pan with olive oil, sprinkle with coarse salt take the pepper by the stem and enjoy!
